Is it permissible for the husband to reclaim the full mahr (dowry), marriage expenses, gifts, and compensation for the service of the wife’s parents, if the wife requests a khul’ (divorce initiated by the wife) without cause after two weeks of marriage?

If the wife is harmed and requests Khul‘ (divorce initiated by the wife), the husband should not take compensation. However, if there is no valid reason for the Khul‘, he has the right to refuse the divorce until she returns the mahr (dowry) to him. According to the majority of scholars, he may also request more than the mahr. As for the gifts given by the husband to his wife, they become her property upon her possession of them, unless it is stipulated or customary that they are part of the mahr, in which case their ruling is the same as that of the mahr. If the husband gives his wife a gift after consummation with the intention of maintaining the marital relationship, and this intention is not realized, he has the right to reclaim that gift.
