The answer

Issues of dispute and contention between spouses are to be referred to the Sharia judiciary.

If the wife requests a divorce due to harm, she is entitled to the entire mahr if it was after consummation or valid seclusion. She is entitled to half of it if it was before consummation. The husband has no right to compensation because the harm originated from him.

If the wife has not been harmed, she does not have the right to request a divorce. If she requests it, the husband may refuse until she agrees to a khul' (divorce by mutual consent) on terms they both agree upon. If the khul' is concluded for a known compensation, the husband is only entitled to the agreed-upon compensation and has no right to anything else from the wife's property, whether it be the mahr or gifts.
