What is the authenticity of the Hadith: "Whoever visits his brother in God in the morning, seventy thousand angels will accompany him, saying: O Allah, forgive the visitor and the one being visited, O Allah, have mercy on the visitor and the one being visited, until evening; and whoever visits his brother in the evening, seventy thousand angels will accompany him, saying: O Allah, forgive the visitor and the one being visited, O Allah, have mercy on the visitor and the one being visited, until morning"?

The aforementioned Hadith, "O Allah, forgive the visitor and the one visited, O Allah, have mercy on the visitor and the one visited," with this wording has no basis. However, a different, authentic wording has been narrated regarding the virtue of visiting the sick. This is what was narrated by Ali ibn Abi Talib (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: "If a man visits his Muslim brother, he walks in the fruits of Paradise until he sits. When he sits, mercy envelops him. If it is in the morning, seventy thousand angels pray for him until the evening, and if it is in the evening, seventy thousand angels pray for him until the morning." This has been narrated both as a saying of the Companion (Mawquf) and as a saying of the Prophet (Marfu'), and it was authenticated by Ibn Abd al-Barr and Al-Albani. There is also a very weak narration from Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) regarding the virtue of general visitation. The virtue of visiting for the sake of Allah is established by other authentic Hadiths, such as the Hadith of Abu Hurairah in Sahih Muslim, where a man visited his brother and an angel informed him that he was a messenger from Allah to him and that Allah loved him as he loved him for His sake. And the Hadith of Mu'adh ibn Jabal, where Allah said: "My love is guaranteed for those who love each other for My sake, those who sit together for My sake, those who visit each other for My sake, and those who spend on each other for My sake."
