The validity of a marriage does not depend on the father's permission, although it is preferable for the son to seek his father's permission. The young man should appease his father and apologize to him, and turn to Allah in supplication to facilitate his marriage and for his father's approval. If the father continues to refuse, the young man is not permitted to disobey him, because honoring one's father is obligatory. Going to sorcerers and charlatans is a grave error and a major sin that necessitates repentance.
