Is it permissible for the Udhiyah (sacrifice) to be offered in the hometown of the father, and is it preferable to distribute it entirely?

It is preferable for a Muslim to slaughter his sacrifice himself in his own country. It is permissible for him to delegate someone to slaughter it on his behalf in another country. The one offering the sacrifice may eat from his sacrifice, give in charity, and store some away.
