The answer

Cosmetic surgeries performed to remove a defect or treat a disease are permissible. However, those performed for the purpose of beautification and adornment are prohibited and are considered an alteration of Allah's creation, which Satan strives for, as Allah Almighty says: (And I will surely command them, and they will alter the creation of Allah). The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, cursed those who perform tattoos (al-washimat), those who pluck eyebrows (al-mutanammasat), and those who make spaces between their teeth (al-mutafallijat) for beauty, altering the creation of Allah, which indicates the prohibition of altering Allah's creation. Al-Qurtubi was of the opinion that the prohibition includes what is permanent, such as altering Allah's creation. The resolution of the Islamic Fiqh Academy stipulated the impermissibility of cosmetic surgery for enhancement that alters the normal human creation according to whims, such as changing the shape of the face, nose, or lips. Therefore, cheek augmentation falls under this prohibition.
