Is it permissible to abandon the Fajr prayer?

Prayer is an obligatory duty tied to a specific time, and it is not permissible to delay it beyond its time without a valid excuse. Whoever does so is considered to have neglected it. Allah Almighty has warned those who neglect their prayers with punishment, and there are prophetic traditions cautioning against neglecting prayer, especially the Asr and Fajr prayers. One who abandons prayer, even a single prayer, is considered to be in the same category as one who abandons prayer entirely, and this is a sign of hypocrisy, which destines its practitioner to eternity in Hellfire.
