The question

What is the ruling on prayer, fasting, and sexual intercourse after an IUD has been inserted, and there have been bloody discharges for 3 days, then menstrual blood for 8 days, then yellow discharges for 2 days, then intermittent spots of blood for 4 days and still ongoing, knowing that menstruation had been absent for 4 months before the IUD insertion?

The answer

If a woman sees discharge mixed with blood, then normal blood, then spots of blood, and the total duration reaches fifteen days: if the blood does not exceed this period, then all of it is considered menses. However, if the bleeding continues after the fifteen days, then it is istihada (prolonged non-menstrual bleeding), and she must refer to the fatwas related to the rulings on mustahada (a woman experiencing istihada).
