What is the ruling on praying and reading the Quran in a room that has human pictures hanging on the walls?

It is not permissible to keep or hang pictures of humans and animate beings except out of necessity, as they prevent angels from entering the house. Prayer in a place with hung pictures of animate beings is valid, as is reading the Quran, but it is disliked, and it is preferable to seek another place; because pictures prevent angels and distract the worshiper. One should also avoid facing pictures during prayer.
