Is what the شيخ described for the treatment of satanic possession, such as incense, amulets, and a paper soaked in water then used for bathing and drinking, considered a legitimate solution Islamically?

It is permissible to go to someone who performs Ruqyah (Islamic exorcism) with the Shar'i Ruqyah (legitimate Islamic incantations), even if a person is not certain about being afflicted by possession or anything else. However, the use of incense in Ruqyah, and what is known as "the Hijab" (amulet) and the paper, if its meaning is not understood, is not permissible; because it may involve shirk (polytheism). It is necessary to ensure that what is written in the Hijab is from the Qur'an, or prophetic supplications, or supplications with a known meaning. If it is so, then there is no harm in washing it, drinking from it, and bathing with it. As for Ruqyah whose meaning is not understood, it is not permissible, due to the saying of the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him: "There is no harm in Ruqyah as long as it does not involve shirk." Scholars have unanimously agreed on the permissibility of Ruqyah with the Qur'an and the remembrance of Allah.
