Is it true that angels wait 8 hours to record a servant's sin to see if he will repent or not?

The sacred texts indicate that angels record good and bad deeds immediately upon their occurrence, without delay. As Allah the Almighty says: ﴿When the two receivers receive, seated on the right and on the left. He does not utter any word except that with him is an observer, ready [to record].﴾ (Quran 50:17-18). And the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "If he intends to do it and does it, Allah records it for him as one bad deed."

As for the hadith that mentions the angel waiting six hours before recording a bad deed, it is not authentically attributed to the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, because it is a strange narration with a weak chain of transmission. Therefore, it cannot be relied upon to prove an unseen matter, especially since it contradicts the apparent meaning of authentic hadiths.
