The answer

Whoever repents of a sin with a sound repentance that fulfills its conditions, their repentance erases the sins they repented from, and the sinfulness of those sins does not return to them. If a servant seeks forgiveness and repents with sincere repentance and abandons the sin, Allah will accept their repentance and forgive them. And if they return to the sin, then seek forgiveness and repent with sincere repentance, Allah will accept their repentance and forgive them. The sinfulness of a past sin does not return after sincere repentance from it. It is obligatory for the servant who returns to the sin to renew their repentance, and not to despair of Allah's mercy, no matter how many times their sin recurs.
