Is repentance and seeking forgiveness permissible with the intention of repeating the sin?

One must strive against the self to avoid sins and abandon forbidden acts, because persisting in sin is forbidden. The conditions for repentance are: regretting what has passed, resolving not to return to the sin, and immediately abandoning the disobedience if one is engaged in it. It is not permissible to delay repentance, as it is a sign of wretchedness. Seeking forgiveness is not beneficial while persisting in sin, as stated in His Almighty's saying: "And those who, when they commit an indecency or wrong themselves [thereby], remember Allah and ask forgiveness for their sins—and who can forgive sins except Allah?—and [who] do not knowingly persist in what they have done. Those—their reward is forgiveness from their Lord and gardens beneath which rivers flow, wherein they will abide eternally; and excellent is the reward of the [righteous] workers." If a servant returns to sin after repenting, their first repentance is not nullified, and they must repent again.
