Is it permissible to wipe over socks during ablution after putting them on following a bath?

It is not permissible to wipe over the socks (khuffayn) during ablution (wudu') unless they were worn after a complete purification, which is the removal of ritual impurity (hadath) by performing wudu' or ghusl (full ritual bath) from janabah (major impurity), menstruation, or postpartum bleeding. As for ghusl for coolness or cleanliness, it is not considered a complete purification that permits wiping unless the person intended wudu' and washed his limbs in order during the ghusl. The ghusl for Friday prayer does not suffice for wudu' according to the preponderant opinion, and therefore, it is not permissible to wipe over the khuffayn after it unless one performs wudu' along with the ghusl.
