What is the ruling on money earned from working in a company that uses unlicensed design software, knowing that my work as a designer relies on these programs, and it is my right for the employer to provide them, and I tried to convince him to buy the original versions but he backed out, and this work is my only source of livelihood and I fear that the money earned from it may be unlawful?

There are previous fatwas that prohibit the use of protected software without the permission of its owners, while other fatwas permit it. If your use of these programs is without the permission of their owners, then your work with them is impermissible due to your participation in infringing upon the rights of others. The company owner must provide original software, or you must leave the job. As for your salary, it is lawful.
