Is a wife considered sinful for not fulfilling her marital duties towards a husband whom she detests, and who refuses to divorce her or marry another, and she cannot seek Khul’ (divorce initiated by the wife) because she has no shelter or income, and what is the ideal solution to this dilemma?

A wife must fulfill her husband's rights as long as she is under his authority and he provides for her maintenance, and it is not permissible for her to refuse to obey him. If she despises him and cannot fulfill his rights, she may seek khul' (divorce initiated by the wife). It is advisable to be patient and to live together honorably, as love is not a condition for the continuation of marital life. Umar said, "Were homes built only on love? Then where is care, and where is trustworthiness?!" He also said, "Not all homes are built on love, but rather on companionship based on lineage and Islam." Achieving affection requires patience, overlooking mistakes, and focusing on the good aspects.
