What should a woman do who does not love her husband, cannot tolerate anything from him or his mother that angers her, falls short in her duties towards him, and they are both considering separation, but he disagrees?

Affection between spouses is achieved through patience, overlooking mistakes and missteps, and focusing on the good aspects. The emotion of love is not a condition for the stability of marital life. Umar, may Allah be pleased with him, said: "Not all homes are built on love, but on companionship based on lineage and Islam."

A husband who possesses religious devotion and good character is a blessing that warrants gratitude. Therefore, the wife must live with her husband in kindness, be patient with him, and not destroy her home. If the wife is unable to fulfill her husband's rights due to her dislike for him, she is permitted to seek Khul' (divorce at the wife's instance) in return for compensation, based on the Almighty’s saying: "But if you fear that they will not uphold the limits of Allah, then there is no blame upon either of them concerning what she gives up to be freed thereby."
