Is the saying true that reciting Surat Al-Fatihah four times is considered a charity equivalent to four thousand dirhams?

Reciting the Holy Quran is among the best acts of devotion. A good deed is rewarded tenfold for each letter, as stated in the Hadith of Ibn Mas'ud. Whoever recites Al-Fatiha attains immense good, for it is the greatest surah in the Quran. The statement that reciting it is equivalent to giving 4,000 dirhams in charity is incorrect, as nothing to that effect has been narrated from the Prophet, peace be upon him. Specifying rewards is a matter of divine instruction (tawqifi).
