Is there a hadith from the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, regarding the obligation of performing ghusl after burying the deceased?

There is no evidence for the command to perform ghusl (ritual bath) after returning from a burial. What is reported, rather, is the command for one who has washed a deceased person to perform ghusl, and for one who has carried the deceased to perform wudu (ablution). Both ghusl and wudu are recommendable (mustahabb) but not obligatory (wajib). The wudu for one who carried the deceased has been interpreted as being in a state of wudu to be prepared for praying over the deceased.
