Must Islamic Sharia laws be applied to the marital relationship between spouses, even if that leads to disturbing the harmony of the marital relationship that was characterized by affection and understanding?

Among the objectives of marriage are stability and affection between the spouses, and this is achieved through their religious rights and duties. Understanding marital life according to Islamic regulations means not violating them, not authoritarianism and control. As for the issue of seeking permission, it suffices that the wife knows her husband's consent, and Qawamah (male guardianship/headship) is for management and organization, not for domination. Consulting the wife has no relation to Qawamah, and her spending in the house does not diminish her husband's Qawamah, nor is the husband obliged to remind his wife of his favor except in the case of Nushuz (disobedience/rebelliousness). The religious regulations aim for harmony, not humiliation.
