The answer

The time for Zakat al-Fitr begins at sunset on the last day of Ramadan and ends with the Eid prayer, based on the Prophet's (peace be upon him) saying: "Whoever pays it before the prayer, it is an accepted zakat; and whoever pays it after the prayer, it is a charity like any other charity." It is permissible to pay it one or two days before Eid. Whoever delays it beyond its prescribed time has sinned and must repent and pay it.
