The answer

A Muslim must remember the Hereafter and prepare for it by being steadfast in obedience and repentance, and by studying the divine texts that speak about the Hereafter. What is happening now are minor signs of the Hour, but there are major signs that have not yet occurred, such as the appearance of the Dajjal and the descent of the Messiah. Fear of the Hour’s advent should be a motivation for repentance and preparation to meet Allah. To calm the heart and dispel fear, a Muslim should maintain acts of worship, recite the Quran, and frequently engage in the remembrance of Allah. Let him increase in repentance and seeking forgiveness, maintain prayer, fasting, and zakat, fulfill rights and duties, and give generously in charity.
