Is it permissible for the wife to refuse to live with her husband's mother after he stipulated that before marriage, and are her family entitled to prevent her from him due to her disagreement with his mother?
If the husband stipulated to his wife before the marriage contract that she should live with his family, and she agreed, then she must fulfill this condition, based on the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, who said: "The conditions most worthy of fulfillment are those by which you make intimacy lawful." However, if the wife is harmed by living with them, she has the right to demand a separate dwelling. If it is not provided, her leaving to her family's home is not considered an act of defiance (nushuz). The husband is not obliged to provide a dwelling far from his family; it is sufficient for the dwelling to be part of the family home but independent with its facilities and entrance to ensure her privacy. It is advisable to resolve marital problems wisely through mutual understanding.
