Must the wife make up the prayers she missed during the period of postpartum bleeding (nifas), when the blood flow stopped and then a yellowish, viscous discharge appeared, and she did not pray, thinking she was still in the period of postpartum bleeding?

Purity from menstruation and post-natal bleeding (nifas) is confirmed by one of two signs: the sight of the white discharge (al-qassah al-bayda'), or the dryness of the area. If dryness occurs, the woman has become pure, and she must make up for the prayers she missed. If dryness does not occur, then a yellowish discharge during the time of menstruation is considered menstruation, and during the time of nifas is considered nifas. This yellowish discharge does not prevent prayer after purity is attained or after the nifas period (forty days) has ended.
