The answer

Speech and communication between non- men and women via the internet or other means is prohibited unless there is a necessity, because it is a source of temptation (fitna). If the gift is intended to perpetuate this forbidden relationship, then it is a forbidden gift. However, if there is no valid need to speak with the woman, then the relationship with her must be severed, and no money or gift should be accepted from her. If there is a need to speak, then it should be limited to the extent of that need, and one must be wary of Satan's enticement.
