How can one get rid of the feeling that Allah will not forgive, the loss of the pleasure of supplication (du'a) and seeking forgiveness (istighfar), and obsessive thoughts (waswasa) concerning the verses of the Qur'an?

These thoughts are nothing against you, for Allah has forgiven this Ummah concerning them. We advise you to seek refuge with Allah from Satan whenever they come to you, and to occupy yourself with what benefits, such as acquiring knowledge, doing righteous deeds, and permissible recreation. Do not surrender to obsessive thoughts, and do not spend too much time alone. Increase your reading of books on encouragement and deterrence, spiritual purification (raqa'iq), and stories of the righteous predecessors and those who repented.
