"There is no doubt that the matter of kinship is significant, maintaining its ties is obligatory, and severing them is a major sin. If the maternal uncle has insulted or wronged the mother, then he has committed a grave offense, and he must repent to Allah and seek her forgiveness. If he is the wrongdoer, then it is not permissible for her to sever ties with him unless she fears harm, and forgiveness and maintaining ties despite the offense is commendable. We advise entrusting wise individuals to reconcile them, and if there is no harm to the mother from maintaining ties with her brother, then she should be keen on doing so, or maintain ties with him to the extent that there is no harm to her, for through forgiveness, honor is attained.
