Is it obligatory to perform ghusl for fasting after achieving complete purity from menstruation, or is it permissible to perform ghusl after the cessation of blood, even if brown discharge continues?

A woman is not required to perform ghusl (ritual bath) unless her menstrual bleeding stops or she sees dryness. If the brown discharge (yellowish or reddish-brown) is connected to menstruation, it takes the same ruling as menstruation. Therefore, a woman should not perform ghusl until this discharge ceases and she confirms her purity by one of two signs: seeing the white discharge (al-qassah al-bayḍā’) or complete dryness, where a white cotton swab comes out clean. However, if the yellowish or reddish-brown discharge appears after purity has been confirmed and menstruation has ceased, it is not considered menstruation.
