What is the expiation for one who intentionally breaks their fast on a day in Ramadan?

Whoever intentionally breaks their fast on a day in Ramadan has committed a grave sin and must offer sincere repentance and seek forgiveness. They must also make up for that day. If the fast was broken by sexual intercourse, then in addition to making up the day, a major expiation is required (freeing a slave; if one cannot find a slave, then fasting for two consecutive months; if one is unable to do so, then feeding sixty poor people). However, if the fast was broken by eating or drinking, then the major expiation is not required, but only sincere repentance, seeking forgiveness, and making up for that day.
