What is the ruling on a wife seeking divorce, and what should I do to save my children from the consequences of divorce, knowing that my wife is very busy with her work, friends, and family, and rejects all attempts at reconciliation?

It is not permissible for a wife to seek divorce without a legally valid excuse. The trivial excuses a wife gives for seeking divorce make her request forbidden. Maintaining kinship ties can be achieved in many ways and does not require frequent visits. She is not allowed to exaggerate in maintaining kinship ties at the expense of her home and husband's rights, for obedience to her husband takes precedence over everything. Furthermore, a wife's neglect of her household affairs is a shortcoming in her obligatory duties. She is not permitted to engage in any work or leave her home except with her husband's permission. The husband is advised to counsel his wife, dedicate time to teaching her and their children matters of their religion, provide a righteous environment for her, be patient with her, consider her circumstances, consult with her family to avoid divorce, repent to Allah, and frequently remember Him and supplicate to Him.
