Is divorcing a wife who is unresponsive to guidance attempts and negatively affects the children's upbringing, despite her observance of prayer and fasting, recommended or reprehensible?

The husband is advised to be patient and forbearing with his wife, to vary his methods of da‘wah (invitation to Islam) and guidance gently, and to connect her with righteous women. He can also prevent her and his children from visiting relatives whose corrupting influence he fears.

It is impermissible for the wife to refuse to move with her husband to where he wishes, because she must move with him if the conditions are met; otherwise, she is disobedient (nashiz).

If she persists in her disobedience, he may divorce her, and he has a greater right to the custody of the children after divorce when moving to another place, for the children's benefit in remaining with someone who will discipline them and teach them their religious matters.

It is advisable to be deliberate and not rush into divorce, as it may not achieve the desired goals of raising the children, especially since the issue of child custody is contentious, and the Sharia court may not rule to remove the children from the mother for this purpose.
