The answer

It is not permissible for a man to allow his wife to uncover her face in front of non-mahram men. He must fear Allah and be grateful to Him for facilitating for him a wife who adheres to the Islamic dress code. A man is responsible for his household, as the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "A man is a guardian over his family and is responsible for his charges." It is not befitting for him to succumb to family pressures and force his wife to uncover her face, for whoever fears Allah, He will make for him ease in his affair.
