What is the detailed explanation of the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, saying: "Perform Hajj and Umrah consecutively, for they eliminate poverty and sins just as the bellows eliminate the impurities of iron, gold, and silver"?

The noble Hadith states: "Perform Hajj and Umrah consecutively, for they remove poverty and sins as a blacksmith's bellows removes impurities from iron, gold, and silver. And there is no reward for an accepted Hajj except Paradise."

The meaning of "consecutively" (المتابعة) is to perform Hajj and Umrah one after the other, such that one immediately follows the other without a long interval, or to perform them frequently and give them due importance.

As for the removal of poverty and sins, it means that performing them frequently removes sins, as in the Hadith: "Umrah to Umrah is an expiation for what is between them," and that Hajj eradicates what preceded it. They also ward off poverty from their performer, similar to Allah's saying: ﴿And whatever you spend of anything, He will compensate it; and He is the best of providers.﴾ [Surat Saba' 34:39]

This is likened to the "bellows" (الكير) removing dross and impurities from iron, gold, and silver to purify them from defects.
