The answer

Praise be to Allah.\nThe legitimate divorce is a man divorcing his wife during a period of purity in which he has not had intercourse with her. As for divorce during menstruation, postpartum bleeding, or in a period of purity after intercourse, it is considered an innovated divorce. Scholars have differed regarding its occurrence; the majority say it occurs, while some say it does not occur because it is forbidden, citing Allah's saying: (O Prophet, when you divorce women, divorce them for their waiting period). The predominant view is that innovated divorce does not occur. As for divorce in anger, there are details mentioned in the answer to question number (12641).\nAnd Allah knows best.
