A divorce pronounced during menstruation is valid according to the majority of scholars, although it is a forbidden divorce. The wife's knowledge is not a condition for the validity of a revocable return (raj'ah). Furthermore, anger does not prevent the occurrence of divorce unless it reaches a degree that causes loss of awareness. If a husband pronounces divorce jestingly, it is valid. Therefore, it is advised to refer the matter to the Sharia (definition) court for a ruling.
