What is the ruling on one who believes and is convinced that the Earth revolves around the Sun, thereby contradicting the Book and the Sunnah?

The Earth's rotation around the sun is an established scientific fact, and stating it does not contradict the Quran or Sunnah. Moreover, the sun is not stationary; it also rotates. A Muslim should respect scholars and think well of them. The prohibition against following Jews and Christians in the noble Hadith applies only to matters that contradict Islamic law, not to material affairs based on scientific principles.
