What is Islam's position on one who fears Jews and frightening things and does not feel reverence when Allah is mentioned, and how does he overcome the whisperings of the soul when speaking about Islam?

Among the things that help a servant not to fear created beings is his awareness that the created being possesses neither harm nor benefit, and that everything is by decree. Allah has urged us to fear Him and not to fear anyone else. And among the things that help in fearing Allah Almighty is being mindful of the virtues of fear, contemplating frequently the accounts in the divine revelation about the demise of those who passed and the punishment of Allah that befell them, and looking with contemplation at the accounts in the divine revelation about the future warning in the Hereafter and in the torment of the grave, and contemplating the torment of the inhabitants of Hell and the reasons for that. As for natural fear of an enemy who might inflict harm on you, there is no blame in that, but perfect reliance on Allah and not fearing anyone else are among the signs of perfect faith.
