When a person dies, their soul moves to another realm and does not return to their family, nor do they feel anything about them. What is mentioned about the soul returning for forty days is a myth. The deceased does not know the affairs of their family, unless Allah informs some of the deceased about some of their family's affairs without specification. The living may know something about the state of the deceased through truthful dreams, but this depends on the truthfulness of the seer and the vision, and the ability of the interpreter. Its content cannot be asserted without evidence, and visions may vary in their truthfulness and conformity to reality.
