Is it permissible for the one being led in prayer (ma'mum) to precede the Imam in reciting Al-Fatiha during a loud prayer, in order to achieve devotion (khushu') in it, especially since the Imam is reciting?

The preponderant opinion is that reciting Surat Al-Fatihah is a pillar (rukn) for the congregant (ma'mum), and it is permissible for the congregant to recite it before the Imam begins it. However, most scholars are of the view that the recitation of Al-Fatihah is waived for the congregant as long as he is following an Imam.
