A woman is obligated to treat her non-mahram relatives as strangers. Thus, she must avoid seclusion (khalwa) with them, refrain from displaying her adornments, and avoid speaking in a soft and alluring manner. Communication with them over the Internet should be limited to necessity, without any suspicion. It is not permissible for a young woman to joke or use an alluring tone when addressing them, due to the potential for fitna (temptation). The husband must clarify the religious ruling to her and prevent her from being negligent, and she is obligated to obey him.
