To what extent is it permissible for a wife to associate and bond with her young adult male relatives?

A woman's relatives include both mahram (unmarriageable kin) and non-mahram. Her mahram, such as her brothers, are permissible to mix with and to be alone with (khalwa). She may uncover before them what is permissible by Islamic law, and she may look at their bodies within the bounds of what the Sharia has permitted. As for non-mahram relatives, such as the sons of maternal uncles and paternal aunts, they are considered strangers to her. She must treat them on this basis; thus, it is not permissible for her to forgo her hijab, or to be lax in joking, mixing, or being alone with them. Her viewing them as her children does not permit her to transgress the Sharia. Jealousy over her in this situation is praiseworthy if it arises from suspicion based on circumstantial evidence.
