The answer

A woman is not to leave her husband's house except with his permission, for her obedience to him is more obligatory than her obedience to her mother. This is based on the saying of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) to a woman who sought his permission to visit her sick father: "Fear Allah and do not disobey your husband." And Allah forgave her due to her obedience to her husband. It is incumbent upon the husband not to prevent his wife from maintaining ties of kinship, due to the great reward in it. Allah Almighty says: "So would you, if you turned away, cause corruption in the land and sever your ties of kinship?" (Quran 47:22). And the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Allah Almighty said: 'I am Ar-Rahman (the Most Merciful), I created Ar-Rahim (the womb, kinship), and I derived a name for it from My Name. So, whoever keeps its ties, I shall keep My ties with him, and whoever severs its ties, I shall sever My ties with him.'" The questioner must strive to reconcile between her husband and her maternal aunt.
