Is it permissible to move copies of the Qur'an from a small mosque to a large mosque in another city due to the absence of copies there and the large number of worshippers?

It is permissible to transfer copies of the Qur'an that are in excess of the needs of a small mosque to another mosque that is in need of them, due to the general benefit. It is more prudent to seek permission from the imam of the first mosque.
