What is the ruling on having multiple copies of the the Qur'an (masaahif) at home that are not read, and is it permissible to move the unread copies of the Qur'an to the mosque?
There is no harm in owning more than one copy of the Qur’an (Mushaf), and relying solely on one copy for reading is not considered abandoning the others. As for the hadith about abandoning the Mushaf, Al-Iraqi noted that its narrator was a liar. If the copies of the Qur’an belong to the questioner or if he has permission from their owners, there is no harm in taking them to the mosque for people to read from them; rather, that is a good deed for which the doer will be rewarded.
