Is it permissible to urinate in household bathtubs and then pour water over them and perform ablution (wudu'), and which is preferable?

It is better to urinate in the designated place for it, and to perform ablution in the designated place for ablution. It is permissible to urinate in ablution basins if they are thoroughly cleaned. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade urinating in the bathing area. Some scholars disliked urinating in the place of ablution or ghusl (definition) (ritual bathing), and they restricted this dislike to cases where there was no outlet for the urine and water. It is permissible to urinate in tiled or plastered bathrooms and then pour water over the area.
