The answer

If your wife is experiencing fleeting thoughts, be patient with her and pray for her steadfastness. Be gentle with her and encourage her in religion. Remind her of the seriousness of apostasy and the punishment of an apostate, which is eternal damnation in Hell, citing the Almighty's saying: "And whoever of you reverts from his religion and dies while he is a disbeliever - then those have wasted their deeds in this world and the Hereafter, and those are the companions of the Fire; they will abide therein eternally."

If she adheres to the truth, then الحمد لله (praise be to Allah). But if she neglects the obligatory duties, do not keep her in your bond of marriage. And if she abandons it out of denial, then she is an apostate, and you must separate from her. A Muslim is advised to marry a woman of religion and good character, and to be cautious about rushing into marriage with someone who has recently embraced Islam before verifying the sincerity of her conversion.
