The answer

There is no harm for a woman to wear any type of clothing, provided that it conforms to the Sharia guidelines. Among these guidelines is that the clothing should not involve imitation of disbelievers, transgressors, or men, because the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, cursed women who imitate men. The forbidden imitation is that which is specific to disbelievers, transgressors, or men, and has become a distinctive symbol for them. It is desirable for a woman to choose clothing that is most pious towards her Lord, so she should not be extravagant with money nor excessive in adornment, and her ambition should be directed towards lofty matters. The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Many a woman clothed in this world will be naked in the Hereafter."
