Is it permissible to dispose of surplus food in school cafeterias by distributing it to other students, and is it permissible to take a small piece of bread from the cafeteria out of need, and are those who rarely take a small piece of bread equal to those who deliberately eat daily in sin?

Whatever food remains due to the absence of students should be referred back to the officials. It is permissible to benefit from it if it is known that it will be thrown into the garbage, due to the Prophet's prohibition against wasting money. As for taking bread prepared for students, it is not permissible unless it is confirmed that it is surplus to their needs and will be discarded if not eaten. In such a case, eating it is better than throwing it into the garbage. Prior to that, as long as the bread is designated for students, it is not permissible to take from it, whether little or much, but one who takes excessively incurs a greater sin.
