Is it permissible to eat from the foods that children prepare for school events and that are left over, and to distribute the canned goods equally among the female teachers and workers?

Gifts and money donated for a specific purpose should only be spent on that purpose. Any surplus should be returned to the donor or permission sought to spend it on another purpose. What cannot be returned should be consumed in its place if it is a consumable item, or kept. The basic principle is that food for students should not be consumed by others. Teachers should refrain from taking people's money and minimize activities that might encourage such behavior.
