When are the evening remembrances to be recited: after Asr or after Maghrib?

Evening remembrances (adhkar) are recited in the evening, and morning remembrances in the morning. Morning begins from midnight and ends at zawal (midday when the sun begins to decline), and evening begins from zawal and ends at midnight. The best time for morning remembrances is between Fajr (dawn) and sunrise, and for evening remembrances is between Asr (late afternoon) and sunset.

The wisdom behind the remembrances at the two ends of the day is to begin and end the day with them. They are the essence of worship, and through them, well-being and happiness are attained.

Allah Almighty says: (And glorify Him morning and evening) [Al-Ahzab:42]. Al-Asil (evening) is the time between Asr and Maghrib. And He says: (And glorify with the praise of your Lord in the evening and in the early hours) [Ghafir:55]. Al-Ibkar is the beginning of the day, and Al-Ashi is its end. And He says: (And glorify with the praise of your Lord before the rising of the sun and before its setting) [Qaf:39].

This explains the hadiths that mentioned morning and evening remembrances, meaning they are recited before sunrise and before sunset, and the proper time for these remembrances is after Fajr and after Asr.
